Welcome to
Trans and Gender-diverse
- Book Club Naarm !
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people as the Traditional Custodians of Country and we
pay our respect to Elders past and present. They are the first storytellers and text-makers of the lands
on which we meet.
We pay tribute to and honour the lives of all Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander lesbian, gay, bisexual,
queer, trans*, intersex, sistergirl and brotherboy people.*
Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

- About Book Club
Book Club runs every 2nd Saturday of the
month from 1.00 pm - 2.30 pm. It’s held at
Thorne Harbour Health, 200 Hoddle St,
Abbotsford, Wurundjeri Country.
Training Room A, Level 1 (past the coffee
machine) AND online
- You can also join us online using this link below.
- How to Join
We are run by and for trans and gender-diverse
people and offer a welcoming space to share and
explore ideas & reflections on our gender journeys and
TGD culture.
We engage a range of texts (books, podcasts, movies,
games and more) and always link to free online
readings, video and/or audio. You do not have to
engage the text to come along, chat and meet folks!
What to expect
We start with an acknowledgement of country,
introductions and shared space agreement, followed
by a lightly facilitated chat, about and around the text.
We break in the middle and everyone is always
welcome to get up, move around, and take time outs
as needed.
What does it mean for trans people to show up for one another, to care deeply for one another? How have failures of care shaped trans lives? What care practices have trans subjects and communities cultivated in the wake of widespread transphobia and systemic forms of trans exclusion?Join us for a discussion of this short open access (free!) and important rethinking of care for these times.
